About January

Having gone to Cosmetology School at the age of 18, January has been serving in the hair industry for over eleven years. January started her career in Flower Mound, Texas, where she was born and raised. After having two children, January moved to Providence Village, Texas, an up and coming area NW of Frisco. January made this move with much support from her parents, Sharon and Greg Crenshaw. Having both been self-employed for over 27 years, January’s parents were thrilled when she wanted to open a salon. January says, “My mother has always been my fashion icon! She is a born trendsetter. With her 27 years of business experience and my ten years of cosmetology experience, we opened January’s Salon in 2006.”

January’s belief that everyone is unique and beautiful contributes to her gift of evaluating each client and determining styles and colors that will accentuate that person’s features and coloring to maximize their beauty. January says, “I receive great fulfillment from being able to help people express themselves through their appearance.”

In the beauty industry, ongoing education is the key to staying motivated, creative and being able to give your clients the quality they deserve. Over the past eight years January has attended hands-on workshops, fashion shows and conventions in Austin, San Antonio, Dallas and most recently Las Vegas.

In December, January went to Depasquale in Fair Lawn, New Jersey. There January received phenomenal training from the Lakme’ USA Director of Education. January now holds her certification to train other stylists on the Lakme’ Color and Product Lines.

January is always striving to learn new and healthy ways to enhance her clients’ experience at the salon. After much research, January recently made the decision to take the salon “green”. The salon is now using products to create a healthier, earth friendly environment for clients and staff.

 January attended the Premier Hair Show in Orlando in 2009. She attended the International Hairshow in Austin, Texas in 2011.

 January attended the Paul Mitchell Gathering in 2009 and 2010, in Las Vegas, where she received hands-on training and attended salon culture classes.

 January traveled to Atlanta in August to attend the Surface New Beginnings 3 day training class. This class focuses on hair, health and art.

 January also trained in the Satin Smooth Custom Wax & Brow Shaping Class in 2011.

Customer service is very important to January. “I strive to give my clients a salon/spa experience where they can relax, enjoy themselves and feel rejuvenated when they leave."
